Judging & Awards
At our National Fly-in the AAAA give out a number of awards aligned to the recognised categories.
The awards presented at the National Fly-in are:
AWARDS
- Grand Champion
- Reserve Grand Champion
- Best Antique Aircraft
- Best Classic Aircraft
- Best Contemporary Aircraft
- Best Warbird
- Best Homebuilt
- President's Choice
- Longest Distance
PERPETUAL AWARDS
- Ben Bourke (most original aircraft)
- The Greaser (landing award).
- R.G.Carey (Best presented aircraft at first appearance)
- Les Mason (individual effort to the AAAA movement)
- Bill Goldstraw (Safety award – not presented every year)
GUIDELINES
To be eligible for an award you must be an Association member and have the aircraft on the ground by 5:00pm on the day of presentations.
We also have a precedent that if you win a major prize you may not be eligible to win it again for the following 3 years.
Our hope is that these guidelines will make the whole process as fair and transparent as possible.
