Celebrating 80 years of the mighty Auster

CALLING ALL AUSTER OWNERS!

As we commemorate 80 years of  the venerable Auster, we are keen to see as many of them on the field as possible and we know there's many of you out there! 

EVENT REGISTRATION & EVENT FEE

To ensure all costs associated with the event are covered, there is a $25 per person Event Registration Fee, this will go towards covering costs associated with the event commemorative plaque, bus hire, toilets, marquees and other facilities required to run the event. The Event Registration Fee will be payable online when you select the REGISTER button above or via the 2019 National Fly-in event page on our website.

WELCOME DESK

On arrival, make your way to the Echuca Aero Club where our volunteers on the Welcome Desk will greet you and provide you with a bus timetable and your souvenir event plaque as well as an opportunity to register your attendance in the event registration book. 

We are encouraging all members to utilise our online systems for membership renewals as this will ensure a smoother and more efficient operation at the National by reducing the workload on the Welcome Desk volunteers. If you haven't renewed your membership online prior to the event, you will be able to renew at the event.

Further information on dinner ticket sales and process is detailed below. You will have already received your membership renewal notice via email and if not the renewal form will be in Rag & Tube which will be in the mail shortly.

EVENT LOCATION: ECHUCA AERODROME

Located just 1.5nm south of Echuca township, Echuca Aerodrome boasts a 1100m N/S bitumen strip and a 500m NE/SW grass strip with ample parking for up to 200 aircraft. Check ERSA and NOTAMs for up to date aerodrome details.

ACCOMMODATION OPTIONS WITH BUS SERVICE:

MEALS:

Friday Dinner: 

The Echuca Aero Club will be catering a relaxed dinner on the Friday night as well as having drinks available at the bar. To assist with catering, please indicate your attendance via the registration form.

Saturday Breakfast:

Available on the field between 08:30 and 10:30 catered by the Echuca Aero Club on a pay as you go basis.

Saturday Lunch:

Available on the field between 12:00 and 13:30 catered by the Echuca Aero Club on a pay as you go basis.

Saturday Awards Presentation Dinner:

The Awards Dinner will again be held at the Moama Bowls Club from 18:30. See the following section for full details on the award presentation dinner and how to purchase your tickets.

Sunday Breakfast:

Available on the field between 08:30 and 10:30 catered by the Echuca Aero Club on a pay as you go basis.

AWARD PRESENTATION DINNER TICKET SALES:

The Presentation Dinner will be held at the Moama Bowling Club on Saturday night from 6.30pm and tickets will be on sale until midnight on Sunday the 18th of March. Tickets are available online only. There will be no cancellations or sales accepted after 17th of March as this is the date we are required to confirm a final numbers with the venue. A maximum of 2 adult and up to 3 children's tickets can be purchased per member, with children’s tickets available as ‘under 12 years’ for $25 (2 course children’s meal). If you have children that are between 12 and 18 and would like an adult sized meal or have any other special needs, please contact Karen Henderson via email to events@antique-aeroplane.com.au

Once you have booked and paid for your dinner tickets, remember to bring your payment receipt with you to the dinner on Saturday night as this will serve as your entry ticket at the dinner venue.

As per last year, seating at tables will be allocated as you arrive at the door. There will be no reserved tables and no holding seats for others, therefore, if you want to sit with a group of people you must arrive and enter with them. There is plenty of time to catch up with old friends so please enjoy the opportunity to maybe meet new people with whom you share your aviation interest.

The bus will leave at 10pm to return people to their accommodation and will then return for a second round at approximately 10:30pm

GROUND TRANSPORT:

A bus service will operate to and from the accommodation list above and will run according to the following schedule leaving the airport on the hour.  the cost of the bus is included in your event fee.

Friday: 16:00 to 20:00.

Saturday: 08:00 to 10:00, 15:00 to 18:00 and 22:00 and 22:30 after the awards dinner

Sunday: 08:00, 09:00 and 10:00 

AVGAS:

AVGAS will be available on the field via roaming tanker from midday Friday through to midday Sunday. It is highly recommended to refuel on arrival and not wait until the last minute on Sunday.
