BARRY BELL AWARD


Barry Bell (1940-2025) was a key founder and the inaugural President of the Antique Aeroplane Association of Australia. In 2024 on the occasion of the Association's 50th Anniversary, the Barry Bell Award was established in recognition of Barry's enormous contribution to the old aeroplane movement.

The Award is bestowed upon a member in recognition of their outstanding contribution to the association or to the cause of antique aviation.

Earlier in the Association's history, The Les Mason Award was bestowed upon a member for an outstanding contribution to antique aviation.  The Les Mason Award has now been retired. Recipients of the Les Mason Award were -
